Wednesday night was major holiday here of "witch burning." The idea is to burn out winter and welcome spring. We went out to a park full of youth, it was so cool. They were twirling fire and had a dj! I was so impressed with these kids, to see that they put the whole thing together themselves!
Thursday, lucky me! Brenna and Becky's good friend from Eau Claire and his friends came here! Since Brooke is gone they are all crammed in her room for the weekend. It is nice to have some Minnesotan/Wisconsins around, they are super sweet and funny kids...they have been studying in Germany and living with host families, and are probably fluent now in German, I would think. We have them until Sunday and are just trying to show them a good time, it isn't hard.
Also, Thursday was May Day and here it is their Labor day. Lots of places were closed and it seemed like Prague had slowed down for the day.
Friday . . .Laura and I walked around a little, but it was hard, the city is packed with tourists so the walk was so and we didn't get far. We came back and worked on some homework. For dinner we all went to the Cafe Louvre after being rejected, because they were full, by 2 other places to eat. The Cafe Louvre is a lovely place and has delicious desserts! When we came back everyone was kind of down, we realized it was our last Friday together...on the downer note everyone started doing homework or just went to bed...lame.
Today we are going to a nature reserve, to sit out and relax, it should be nice...We never made it, the rain is on and off like crazy!
love from Praha,
Roxanne
